“Oktoberfest 2004 Wrap-up”

But First…
In 1989, Paul Snepsts and Alex Tran visited the Kitchener/Waterloo Oktoberfest. They heartily enjoyed it though by law they really shouldn’t have. That fateful trip led to a pact: One day we’ll enjoy the real oktoberfest…
Forward to 2001, the pact is fulfilled. But instead of satisfying the craving, the trip plants a seed, spawning a monster. Through the fog of a lengthy hangover, the desire – no, the need – to return was clear.
Plans were laid far in advance for this trip, of course the hotels and such fill up a year in advance. Even earlier, solicitations to friends and fellow beer / party lovers were made. Many obliged but balked at the cost. Some had commitments. Most stayed away.
We became a team of four, a close knit group bound for excess. In hindsight, it could not have turned out better.
